Learner Enrolment Extension: Historical Qualifications

The Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande recently announced the extension of the pre-2009 Qualifications via the Government Gazette dated 03 June 2024. The great news is that the enrolment date extension has been granted to 44 Services SETA legacy qualifications. This is inclusive of the two trades, hairdresser and stonemason.

This effectively means that accredited SDPs can enroll learners on these unit standard-based qualifications for the next 1 – 2 years. Some of the TVET College NATED courses and Trades were also affected by the Gazette as Occupational Qualifications Hairdresser and Stonemason were considered.
